As Quality Start Riverside County continues to grow, we have spent the last year reflecting on the best way to deliver quality improvement support. We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new Coaching Model to help you meet and exceed your quality improvement objectives.

What is a Quality Start Coach?

A Quality Start Coach is a trained professional who helps educators raise their level of quality in care and education. Quality Start Coaches provide individualized coaching, resources, and support to best meet your specific professional development objectives. Your Coach will work collaboratively with you to create goals and a Quality Improvement Plan that is based on your unique strengths and areas of improvement identified during your Quality Start assessment and rating.

Coaching Model for Center-Based Providers

Quality Start Coaching Model for Centers Rated Tiers 1-3

A representative from Quality Start will be in touch to schedule the first monthly coaching session at your site, which may be conducted in-person or virtually. For centers that have more than four classrooms, coaching will be provided at your site two times per month.

Each coaching session will be approximately two hours and will include an observation and feedback session. These meetings are your chance to reflect on your progress toward your goals, answer any questions you have, and focus on specific areas of your Quality Improvement Plan.

Additionally, each quarter, the leadership at your site will be required to attend either a Leadership Learning Community or participate in a one-on-one leadership development session. Through the Quality Start Leadership Learning Community, you will be connected with other local professionals to learn from one another and improve your skills around specific topics. If you prefer more individualized support, you may choose to receive one-on-one visits where your coach will spend up to three hours helping you address your specific quality improvement objectives.

Quality Start Coaching Model for Centers Rated Tiers 4-5

A representative from Quality Start will be in touch to schedule your annual quality improvement visit. This visit is your chance to reflect on your progress toward your goals, answer any questions you have, and focus on continuous quality improvement.

Additionally, you and your staff are able to take advantage of leadership consultation and instructional learning communities. Through Quality Start leadership consultation, you are invited to participate in quarterly Leadership Learning Communities, where you will be connected with other local professionals to learn from one another and improve your skills around specific topics. If you prefer more individualized support, you may choose to receive one-on-one visits where your coach will spend up to three hours each quarter helping you address your specific quality improvement objectives.

Instructional staff at your center have the option to attend quarterly Quality Start Instructional Learning Communities. These two-hour meetings provide peer-to-peer networking and quality improvement support for teachers working in high-performing sites, allowing teachers to receive guidance and support to further quality improvement goals.
