R&R agencies provide services to families and child care providers. These agencies have been funded by California Department of Education (CDE) since 1976.

Across the state, R&R agencies:

  • Provide information to families regarding quality child care and other community resources.
  • Maintain comprehensive databases of child care providers in their communities, including licensed family child care homes and child care centers
  • Provides training and technical assistance for providers to improve the quality of child care
  • Educates local community leaders to understand child care issues and to plan effectively to address child care needs

The Riverside County R&R agency assists families with finding licensed child care near their home, work, or child’s school. The computerized, geographically-based program lists over 2,800 licensed centers and family child care homes!

Child Care Referrals

Families in Riverside County can call or go online and get a free, customized plan to assist them in identifying, selecting, and securing child care that best meets their needs.  Trained professionals help families consider options such as state preschool, center-base child care, Head Start, etc. R&R staff offer all services in English and in Spanish.

Child care referrals are based on parent’s request of:

    • Hours needed
    • Ages of children

R&R agencies will also provide other resources to families as necessary – including food, shelter, counseling, summer camp program, utility assistance, etc.
